Pubdate : 2015-07-07 Source : Chemical Watch Writer : CIRS
The Swedish Chemicals Agency, Kemi, has launched an action plan to tackle perfluorinated chemicals as part of its toxic-free living campaign.

The aim is to raise awareness and reduce the use of the environmentally persistent chemicals, used in fire foam and the water proofing of textiles.

Kemi plans to work with companies on replacing the substances with less dangerous alternatives. It also will make a survey of their use and the existence of alternatives.
