Final recommendations on 29 exemption renewal requests under RoHS 2.0
Published: Author: Visits: 1333
On 27 June 2016, a final report related to exemptions from the substance restrictions in electrical and electronic equipment (Pack 9) has been published. The report evaluates 29 exemption renewal requests for existing exemptions approaching their expiry dates.
For your information, businesses can submit applications for renewal, revision on limits or other amendments for the exemptions to be expiry. The Commission decision on renewal request(s) for an exemption will either indicate the new expiry date in case of renewal, or, in case of rejection, grant a transition before the exemption expires, i.e. a period of minimum 12 months, maximum 18 months following the decision date.
Final recommendations and proposed durations are summarised in the report. However, they are not legally binding for the requests of exemption renewal. The exemptions will be formally renewed once the corresponding recommendations are published on the Official Journal of the European Union.
