Harmonised standard list for nickel release under REACH released

On 13 January 2017, the Official Journal of the European Union released the latest list (2017/C 011/02) of harmonised standards with regard to nickel release (entry 27) under REACH Regulation, which primarily update the nickel release standard from EN 16128:2011 to EN 16128:2015.

The latest harmonised standards for nickel release as per 2017/C 011/02 are as below:

It is noted the update may affect the ruling of nickel release under REACH Regulation. C&K Testing advises businesses should assess the risks and determine whether to have their products retested for regulatory compliance.
